  • Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair residential and light commercial heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and environmental controls.
  • Develop skills in the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) aspects for HVAC systems.

 ●EPA 608 universal refrigeration certification

 ●NATE certification

 ●OSHA 10

 ●CPR and First Aid

SKILLS TAUGHT IN HVAC:

       ●Refrigeration systems, refrigeration system theory, components, operation and application
       ●Heating systems and applications
       ●Blueprint reading
       ●Basic to advanced electrical theory and application
       ●Electromagnetic controls and heat transfers
       ●Refrigerant 608 EPA Certification
       ●Natural gas and LP (liquefied petroleum) gas piping and components
       ●Pipe fitting and installation
       ●Home electrical wiring and components
       ●Basic sheet metal install and load calculations
       ●OSHA 10
       ●CPR and First Aid

HVAC Students

TYPICAL WAGES FOR JOBS IN THIS FIELD:

           ●Beginning HVAC/R technicians can expect to earn over $45,000 a year.
