KCCC's staff handed out career center bucks during our three lunch periods last week to students for 2nd quarter perfect and exemplary attendance along with being on the honor and merit roll. Congratulations! Great job!

Students in Culinary Arts assisted with cooking and plating the meal for Mount Vernon Nazarene University's (MVNU) Baseball On Deck Kick-off Campaign Dinner at MVNU on Saturday night for over 300 people. Our students did an outstanding job!
Ms. Dani, a senior in Early Childhood Education (ECE), taught lessons on colors and rainbows to our KCCC Preschool children! Children learned that the primary colors are yellow, red and blue and that colors can describe emotions.
Some of the activities children participated in included:
-color mixing
-creating our own rainbows
-making patterns with colors
Students in ECE enjoy preparing our young children to enter kindergarten!

Meade Construction gave a commercial roofing demonstration to juniors and seniors in Building Trades. We appreciate Meade Construction representatives coming out for the demo!! It was a really good experience for our students!!
Ms. Metzger's Ag Science 2 class completed a Dairy Industry unit. The students learned about different types of dairy (cow, goat, sheep and plant-based) by performing a Lactose-Intolerance Lab. They tested different types of dairy products and the levels of lactose in each, and then learned why some people cannot tolerate the enzyme lactose. The students really enjoyed this unit!!
Knox County Career Center has released the Merit & Honor Roll for the second quarter of the 2024-2025 school year. Congratulations to all of our students for earning these honors!

College Credit Plus Mandatory Information Meeting at KCCC: January 15, 2025 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm in the Cafeteria (snow date will be Wednesday, January 22)
In order to participate in College Credit Plus (CCP) during the 2025-2026 school year:
Step 1 - Attend the Information Meeting.
Step 2 - Complete Intent to Participate Form. If you did not pick one up at an Information Meeting you can see your KCCC school counselor for the form.
Step 3 - Turn in your intent form to Mrs. Nowicki or Mrs. Bush. These steps need to be completed by April 1, 2025.
From there, it is up to the student to apply to the college(s) they are interested in taking classes through and follow their steps for application, admission, and course registration. Please notify your school counselor once you are registered for any courses. If you would like help deciding what classes to take, please schedule an appointment with your school counselor for academic advising.
