Detective Lieutenant Beth Marti from the Mount Vernon Police Department spoke with Ms. Jessup's Forensics class. Detective Marti was able to share stories about her time in the field and bring in forensics equipment to share with students. Thank you, Detective Marti!!
Ms. Hailey, senior in Early Childhood Education, served as the lead teacher in KCCC's Preschool and taught children about sports and physical activity. Ms. Hailey talked about the importance of being active and staying healthy!

-Having a gym in our dramatic play area
-Painting with balls
-Drawing and telling a story about climbing a tree
-Measuring and comparing different sports balls

Juniors in HVAC built a wall and floor to become a mock up of a bathroom. They worked on laying it out and installed PVC piping for vents and drains. When finished with that, they installed water lines. Students in HVAC develop skills in the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) aspects for HVAC systems.
Ariel Corporation hosted their annual luncheon at KCCC prior to winter break. Chef Russo and Culinary Arts students prepared a wonderful meal and served Ariel's employees and retirees. We enjoy these events at KCCC! Thank you to Mrs. Hall for helping with the decorations in the library!
Mrs. Hall & Mrs. Dugan hosted KCCC's PBIS event in December! Students could use career center cash to attend this event. We spend two periods watching a holiday movie, eating popcorn & snacks, and having a great time together. Thank you to all of the students who attended and to Mrs. Hall & Mrs. Dugan for hosting this event!
Congratulations to our students on receiving a Future Focused Shoutout for the month of November. Our Future Focused topic for November was emails & phone calls. Students were nominated by their lab instructors for this award.
KCCC held a door decorating contest during the month of December!! Our staff & students had a great time decorating the doors!! Thank you to all of the staff and students who participated in this contest!!
Students had the opportunity to ice cookies and enjoy a snack after lunch last week! We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!
Nova decided to join KCCC's Spirit Week, with the help of Mrs. Adkins! We greatly appreciate SRO Armstrong & Nova and all they do for our staff and students!

KCCC's staff participated in Student Council's Spirit Week the last week before winter break and wore a festive holiday shirt or ugly sweater! We had a fun, festive week!!!
KCCC's staff sang Christmas carols to students in the cafe on Thursday morning! This is an annual tradition at KCCC and our staff enjoys this event!!
KCCC's Preschool children sang songs for their families as part of the Preschool Holiday Party prior to winter break. Lots of entertainment, fun, and pictures throughout the two performances! Merry Christmas!
KCCC held Christmas Karaoke in the cafe during lunches on the last day of school before winter break. We had loads of fun signing and laughing! Thank you to all of our staff & students who participated!
