"I didn't know what to expect when I went to the Knox County Career Center. KCCC taught me what community and hard work were all about to make things happen on a large scale or a small scale. KCCC also helped me with a vision and what I wanted in my life." -John Ables

KCCC welcomed families for a Trick or Treat event hosted by the Early Childhood Education program. Cosmetology students offered face painting and had trick-or-treat stops for the children. Student Council also joined in the fun by having crafts in the library and a table of goodies for children to pick from. Mrs. Lifer's CBI class, KCCC administrators, and our KCCC Preschool staff also had trick-or-treat stations for children. The Early Childhood Education students conducted carnival games and served donuts, cider, and milk as well. Thank you to all the students and instructors who made this event possible!

CollegeU-Business juniors worked with assigned teams in Team Building on a project called "Take a Trip". This involved coordinating and planning with a team on where they wanted to go for your trip. The presentation covered the economy, government, customs, values and foods, flag, and map of the trip. The trip was to span over 7 days. In order to understand the value of evaluation, the students conducted a self and peer evaluation following the presentations.

National Wreaths Across America Day Saturday, December 16, 2023 In Partnership with Wreaths Across America, the Knox County Career Center is asking for sponsors for wreaths to lay on the gravesites of veterans at Mound View Cemetery on December 16, 2023. Our goal is to have as many wreaths as possible. Currently, there are about 1050 veterans buried at the cemetery. There are two different things that anyone can do to help out. The first thing is to come to Mound View Cemetery on December 16, 1200 (noon), for a brief ceremony, then to lay wreaths. This will typically take about one to two hours. It could take more or less time depending on the number of wreaths and volunteers we have. The second thing people can do is sponsor wreaths. Wreaths are $17 each. Each person can buy as many or as few as they would like, but the bottom line is, we must have sponsors for wreaths for this to be successful. There are a couple of ways a person can sponsor wreaths: First, they can go to: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/OH0017P. This will take them to our "partnered" website with Wreaths Across America and ensure the wreaths go to Moundview Cemetery. Second: a person can go to the Knox County Career Center web page, scroll down under "events" until they see a flier for Wreaths Across America, click to look at the flier, and then scan the QR code. This will take them to the website. Please note, that for every wreath sponsored on the website, the JROTC will receive a $5 donation.
