
KCCC seniors are able to earn the opportunity to take their career tech skills to businesses and industry during their senior year by meeting academic grade, attendance, behavior, and performance expectations in their career tech lab and academic classes.


Knox County Career Center (KCCC) students competed in the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State competition held in Columbus, Ohio on March 10 & 11.
KCCC had 14 students qualify for nationals in the BPA State competition. The 14 national qualifiers from KCCC will have the option to compete in the BPA National Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL May 7-11.
KCCC’s 14 students who qualified for BPA Nationals include 7 students from CollegeU-Business (CLGU), 6 students from Computer Network Technology (CNT), and 1 student from Pre-Professional Mentorship (PPM). Ethan Kapper (CNT) won first place in Server Administration Using Microsoft. Aiden Colgan (CNT) won second place in Linux Operating System Fundamentals. Laura Page (CLGU) won second place in Economic Research Individual. Elizabeth Swartzentruber (CLGU) won second place in Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications. Elliott Anderson, Hunter Brooks, Tyler Ing, and Ryan Snyder (CNT) won second place in Network Design Team. Lillian Allen (PPM) won third place in Health Administration Procedures. Isaiah Campbell, Austin Hammond, Sami Lacksonen, and Carter Thompson (CLGU) won third place in Financial Analyst Team. Kayleen Small (CLGU) won eighth place in Business Law & Ethics.
KCCC also had 9 other students who placed in the BPA State Top 10 but did not qualify for nationals. Those students include: Luke Overholt and Jacob Spaulding (CLGU) in Small Business Management Team, Carson Hammond (CLGU) in Banking & Finance, Tessa Wahl (CLGU) Entrepreneurship, Tanner Nutter (CLGU) in Ethics & Professionalism, and Hannah Blubaugh, Leon Cornette, Joslynn Rine, and Olivia Stone (DMSD) in Visual Design Team.

Students in Mrs. Wittel's Build Your Future class have enjoyed learning about food through a program sponsored by SNAP-Ed. Ohio SNAP-Ed is a free nutrition education program that helps Ohioans stretch their food dollars and make the healthy choice the easy choice. Students learned important information about healthy eating and learned how to make a few great snacks!





Mrs. Blaney and Mrs. Gray took the Early Childhood Education juniors to the Educator's Rising Conference at Capital University. Students attended sessions on play-based learning, mental health, and more. The keynote speakers were Ohio's Teacher of the Year, Danee Pickney, and Corwyn Collier. Corwyn Collier is a Purple Heart Army veteran. He challenged students to believe in themselves and remember that they only have one life to live, and it's a journey. Students also attended a college fair.



EMI representatives spoke with juniors and seniors in Landscape Design & Management about what EMI does as a company and the different employment opportunities there. They also worked with students on cost estimation and irrigation in preparation for the upcoming NCLC competition in Fort Collins, Colorado.
