
KCCC seniors are able to earn the opportunity to take their career tech skills to businesses and industry during their senior year by meeting academic grade, attendance, behavior, and performance expectations in their career tech lab and academic classes.


Seniors in Pre-Professional Mentorship (PPM) participated in Lifepoint Church's Backpacks of Hope program. Backpacks of Hope provides bags of food for local school children in need of food over the weekend. Students from PPM learned all about this program and prepared bags of food for each child, so they could be delivered by a Lifepoint Church representative.
Seniors in Pre-Professional Mentorship explore various career fields and college majors while making connections in local businesses.


Juniors in HVAC learned the correct way to use a recovery machine to recover refrigerant. Students then learned how to put a system into a vacuum to properly charge it with the refrigerant.
Students in HVAC have an opportunity to test to become EPA 608 certified to be licensed to handle and work on equipment that has refrigerant.

Juniors in Health Technologies conducted their "Just Breathe!" lab. Students learned about the respiratory system. Using pig lungs, students practiced endotracheal intubation and dissection to look at anatomical structure.
Students in Health Technologies explore a wide range of health careers through practical lab experiences and a college science curriculum.



Casey made a donation to the student pantry, located in Student Services, at KCCC! All students have access to food, hygiene, and clothing items throughout the school year from the student pantry.


Students in Culinary Arts visited Columbus State Community College's Mitchell Hall. They toured the campus and learned about the different hospitality programs they have to offer students who plan to further their education.

Students in Sports Medicine & Exercise Science had the opportunity to experience a game day from an athletic trainer's perspective. Mr. Brian Humphrey, Mount Vernon Nazarene University's Head Athletic Trainer, talked with students about a variety of topics related to athletic training and game day needs. Students had an opportunity to interact in the classroom, in the training room, and watch how situations are handled throughout the game from an athletic trainer's perspective. Great opportunity for our students!

Ty Calkins, Cunningham Insurance Agent, spoke with KCCC students recently about various types of insurance. Thanks for coming out Ty! Great opportunity for our students to learn about different types of insurance and coverages!




Ms. Emma, a senior in Early Childhood Education (ECE), taught lessons on exploring farms and farm animals to our KCCC Preschool children! Children learned that farms provide us with many goods and that we can identify farm animals by the sounds that they make.
Some of the activities children participated in included:
-Counting farm animals
-Having a farm in our classroom
-A visit from a chicken
-Creating our own farm animals
Students in ECE have our classroom fun preparing young children to enter kindergarten!


KCCC's Preschool hosted their Math & Science Event prior to Thanksgiving Break! Families were invited in to do math and science activities with their child. Early Childhood Education students assisted with the activities as well. Fun event for our families!!
